Catherine Tillman

Catherine Tillman, known as Katie, is a consumer protection attorney with more than two decades of legal experience. Her background spans consumer rights, civil litigation, legal aid, and complex litigation, giving her extensive experience helping people navigate legal problems that can have a serious impact on their finances and everyday lives.

Katie began her legal career in large-scale asbestos litigation, where she worked as part of a team handling several multimillion-dollar cases. She later practiced civil litigation in Florida before shifting her focus toward legal aid and consumer advocacy.

As a legal aid attorney, Katie represented people facing a wide range of financial and consumer problems. Her work included medical bill disputes, Social Security disputes, debt collection defense, credit harassment, garnishment, credit report reviews, vehicle repossessions, contract disputes, and unfair or deceptive trade practices. That experience gave her firsthand insight into the financial challenges consumers can face and the importance of having someone who understands how to navigate them.

Katie earned her B.A. in English and History from Washington and Jefferson College and her J.D. from Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She is admitted to practice in Florida and Ohio, as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and all three federal district courts in Florida.

Today, Katie’s practice includes credit report errors, bankruptcy reporting errors, mixed credit files, deceased reporting, background check errors, identity theft recovery, EFTA and FCBA violations, and debt collection harassment. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the National Association of Consumer Advocates.
