Matthew Gordon
Matthew Gordon is a consumer protection attorney who helps people address credit reporting errors, background check mistakes, identity theft, debt collection problems, and other consumer rights issues. His practice relies heavily on protections established by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and other federal consumer protection laws.
Matthew earned his B.S. in Political Science from Arizona State University in 2020, where he was a member of the National Political Science Honor Society and served as a Junior Fellow with the School of Politics and Global Studies. Before law school, he worked as a residential electrician, gaining hands-on experience with residential electrical systems.
Matthew went on to earn his J.D. with honors from Emory University School of Law in 2025. During law school, he served as a Staff Editor and Symposium Editor for the Emory Law Journal and helped organize the 2025 Randolph W. Thrower Symposium on digital platform regulation and addictive technologies. He also gained litigation experience through clerkships involving personal injury and real estate disputes.
After law school, Matthew worked as a law clerk handling consumer class action litigation. That experience sparked his interest in consumer protection and using the law to help people challenge practices that violate their rights.
Today, Matthew’s practice includes credit report errors, bankruptcy reporting errors, mixed credit files, deceased reporting, background check errors, identity theft recovery, EFTA and FCBA violations, and debt collection harassment. He is licensed to practice in Arizona and is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys volleyball, Olympic weightlifting, and following the New York Yankees.
