Mehak Rizvi

Mehak Rizvi is a consumer protection attorney who helps people challenge inaccurate credit reporting, employment background checks, tenant screening reports, and other errors that can affect their finances, jobs, and housing. She has significant experience litigating cases under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), with a particular focus on reporting problems that occur after bankruptcy.

Mehak began working on FCRA cases while at a consumer protection firm, where she focused primarily on post-bankruptcy credit reporting inaccuracies. Since then, she has litigated numerous FCRA cases involving inaccurate credit reports, employment background checks, and tenant screening reports. She has also helped consumers address Bankruptcy Automatic Stay and Bankruptcy Discharge Injunction violations.

Mehak earned her B.S. in Political Science, summa cum laude, from Arizona State University in 2017. She earned her J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in 2021, graduating with certificates in Trial Advocacy and Pro Bono service.

During law school, Mehak served as president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Association and worked as a student attorney in ASU’s Civil Litigation Clinic. She also completed externships with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office Civil Rights Division and the Arizona Supreme Court.

Today, Mehak’s practice includes credit report errors, bankruptcy reporting errors, mixed credit files, deceased reporting, background check errors, tenant screening errors, identity theft recovery, EFTA and FCBA violations, and debt collection harassment. She is also a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates.
