Sukayna Almusawi

Sukayna Almusawi is a consumer protection attorney who helps people address credit reporting errors, background check mistakes, identity theft, debt collection problems, and other issues that can affect their finances and everyday lives. She brings a client-centered approach to her work and is fluent in Arabic.

Sukayna earned her B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from Wayne State University and her J.D., cum laude, from WMU Cooley Law School. During law school, she received the Distinguished Student Award and Leadership Achievement Award in recognition of her academic achievement, leadership, and service. She also earned a Certificate of Merit in Trial Skills.

Sukayna gained hands-on litigation experience as a student prosecutor with the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office. In that role, she prepared and litigated misdemeanor cases, conducted pretrial hearings, negotiated plea agreements, and participated in jury trials.

Public service has also been an important part of Sukayna’s legal career. During law school, she completed more than 100 hours of pro bono and community service work and participated in several student organizations, including Moot Court, the Organization for Women Law Students, and the Student Bar Association.

Today, Sukayna’s practice includes credit report errors, bankruptcy reporting errors, mixed credit files, deceased reporting, background check errors, identity theft recovery, EFTA and FCBA violations, and debt collection harassment. She is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, National Arab American Bar Association, and Women Lawyers Association of Michigan.
