Sylvia Bolos

Sylvia Bolos is a consumer protection attorney who helps people navigate problems involving inaccurate credit reports, background checks, identity theft, debt collection, and other consumer issues. She represents consumers under federal laws including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

Before joining Consumer Justice Law Firm, Sylvia served as General Counsel at 123NET, Senior Counsel at Berger Montague, and Senior Associate Attorney at Lyngklip & Associates, where her work focused on federal consumer protection matters.

While at Lyngklip & Associates, Sylvia also co-founded Insight, LLC, a consumer protection consulting firm created to train and coach consumer protection attorneys across the country.

Sylvia brings a unique financial background to her legal practice. Before becoming an attorney, she held Senior Program Analyst and Accountant positions with the Department of Defense and spent several years working in the banking industry. That experience gives her additional perspective when dealing with the financial and reporting systems that can create problems for consumers.

Today, Sylvia’s practice includes credit report errors, bankruptcy credit reporting errors, mixed credit files, deceased reporting, background check errors, identity theft recovery, EFTA and FCBA violations, and debt collection harassment.

Sylvia is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) and has served as a committee chair for the Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of Michigan.
