Yaear Weintroub

Yaear Weintroub is a consumer protection attorney who helps people challenge credit reporting errors, unfair debt collection practices, and other violations of their consumer rights. His work focuses heavily on the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and helping consumers deal with mistakes that can damage their credit, reputation, and financial opportunities.

Before his current practice, Yaear worked on FCRA cases and other consumer protection matters, building experience representing people facing problems with consumer reports and creditors. He developed his early litigation experience as a full-time Pro Bono Scholar with Disability Rights New York, where he worked on behalf of people with disabilities.

Yaear was drawn to consumer protection because it gives him an opportunity to hold businesses accountable when their mistakes or practices harm ordinary people. He takes a client-focused approach to his cases, prioritizing clear communication, answering questions promptly, and explaining what is happening throughout the legal process.

Yaear earned his J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University on a full scholarship. He was selected for the Pro Bono Scholars Program, which allowed him to take the bar exam early while completing full-time pro bono legal work. Before law school, he earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Brooklyn College with a minor in Computer Science.

Yaear is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and is admitted to numerous federal district courts across the country. Outside of his legal work, he writes music, plays several instruments, follows a variety of sports, and enjoys spending time with his wife and their dog.
