Daniel Cohen

Founder, Mistake.com

Daniel Cohen started Mistake.com with a simple belief: nobody should lose a job, an apartment, loan, or their peace of mind over a reporting mistake that isn't theirs. Daniel began his legal career as a consumer protection litigator in New York, working directly with people whose lives had been ruined by a wrong entry on a report they didn't even know existed until it cost them something real.

That experience shaped everything about how Mistake.com works today; the companies that make the error pay to fix it, never the client. For over 10 years, Daniel and his team have taken on major credit bureaus, background check companies, and data providers on behalf of everyday people, securing millions in settlements along the way.

Daniel is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the National Consumer Law Center and is regularly sought out by national media for insight on consumer reporting issues.

When he's not fighting to undo other people's mistakes, Daniel channels that same energy into building tools and companies that make consumer protection more accessible to more people.
